This weekend will finally provide consistent summer-like weather across Connecticut, and it's welcome news for some businesses that have seen profits slump due to cold and rainy conditions.
Saturday and Sunday are set to bring sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s and 80s, but restaurants like Ripka's Beach Cafe in Norwalk have taken a hit in previous weeks.
Owner Clyde Ripka says his business depends on the weather every year.
"Being a seasonal business, it has a tremendous impact, even though we are open year-round," says Ripka. "So we go from one employee, being myself in the wintertime, to 38 kids and we haven't been able to give them hours."
Other businesses on the Fairfield County shoreline have echoed similar sentiments about slower business but are prepared for a busy few days.
