The Secretary of State's office says that more than 10,000 people have volunteered to be poll workers in Connecticut for Election Day.
In Stratford, more than 150 poll workers are set to help the election run smoothly. Officials say they're doing everything they can to make sure those workers are prepared and safe.
Voter registrar Lou DeCilio says safety protocols will be part of the training Stratford's new and returning poll workers get this week. The training will be in person in the City Council chamber as planned, but not all at once.
DeCilio says this election year called for even more volunteers than most. He says they had no problem filling the demand, with a lot of the interest coming from high school students.
DeCilio says every polling place must be fully staffed even with unprecedented mail-in voting.
Officials say if you're not registered to vote yet the deadline is Tuesday. And if you miss that, you can still take advantage of same-day registration.
