Sen. Richard Blumenthal is demanding answers from TikTok over allegations the social media platform disabled safeguards for some of its U.S. users.
The Connecticut senator said roughly 15 million users, including minors, were affected.
Blumenthal said the company allegedly disabled safety features for about 10% of its U.S. users.
"What TikTok did here, to withhold a safety feature, testing whether it would increase profits, demands answers and accountability," Blumenthal said.
TikTok has not publicly responded to the allegations.
