Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he's happy the Orange Bowl committee and the NCAA decided against a sponsorship deal with a cigar company.
Earlier this month, Blumenthal joined a petition letter lead by senators Dick Durbin and Frank Lautenberg asking the committees to reconsider the proposed three-year sponsorship with Camacho Cigars.
Blumenthal says the associations are making a good example for young sports fans by not going forward with a deal.
The senator says he plans on continuing his efforts to keep kids in Connecticut smoke free.
