Sen. Richard Blumenthal was at the state Capitol on Friday to urge legislative protection for in vitro fertilization and other fertility treatments.
It comes after the Alabama Supreme Court's ruling restricting access to IVF.
Blumenthal and Sen. Tammy Duckworth introduced a bill that would give citizens the right to access IVF treatment.
"It enables people who want to have children to build families; access to IVF is so fundamental to women's health care and reproductive rights," said Blumenthal.
