Sen. Richard Blumenthal is urging the public to take advantage of a free service the federal government is offering this holiday season.
The U.S. is offering free at-home COVID-19 tests at COVID.gov/tests.
“Get the flu vaccine and COVID, because we are in the midst of the worst flu season in decades and COVID cases are surging this holiday season, so testing is absolutely essential. The tests are free,” Blumenthal says.
He adds that holiday gatherings can be made safer if people get tested before taking part.
