Sens. Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal are advocating for Amazon delivery drivers.
Sen. Murphy says drivers are hired by contractors and are often short-changed when it comes to proper compensation and working conditions.
He says that includes 12-hour shifts with no breaks. Adding, that there's a 20% injury rate on the job.
Murphy says Amazon must "take responsibility for the work conditions of some of its most important employees."
Sen. Blumenthal echoes similar sentiments saying, "worker safety over corporate greed."
