A Shelton man was arraigned Tuesday in connection with a 2011 murder in New York City.
Shelton police and NYPD detectives arrested George Cupi in his Westside Lane home Monday morning.
New York City police say that in July 2011, Cupi got into a parking dispute with two brothers in Kew Gardens, Queens. He later returned to the area and shot both men, killing one of them.
Eyewitnesses told reporters at the time that Cupi walked away from the scene laughing.
Shelton police say Cupi was previously unknown to them. Police have not explained what led NYPD investigators to Cupi or Connecticut.
Cupi is being held on $1 million bond. He will likely be extradited back to New York, and his next court date is set for Jan. 19.
