Shooting victim’s sister invites public to attend vigil on sixth anniversary of brother’s death

The sister of 15-year-old Jason Negron is inviting the public to attend a vigil on Saturday to honor her brother's memory on the sixth anniversary of his death. 
Jason Negron was shot to death by a Bridgeport police officer while he was riding in a stolen car in 2017. Following the shooting, Bridgeport officials agreed to pay a settlement to Negron’s family to end a federal civil rights lawsuit they against the city. 
"I think that’s the hardest part for our family,” said Negron’s sister Jazmarie Melendez. “We envision what life would be like for Jason -- right now with us, with the situation we're living in right now. I think of his age. I think of what accomplishments he would have done." 
Melendez continues to call for the police officer who shot her brother to be fired. That vigil taking place at 1000 Park Ave. at 3 p.m.
