Despite the economic slump, shoppers packed the aisles at the Stew Leonard's in Norwalk to gear up for the holiday weekend.
The store's management says for most of the year, sales have dipped for the more expensive types of meat and fish but increased for the less expensive ones.
However, some shoppers say even though they cut costs during the year, all bets are off when it comes to barbecue-type foods for the Fourth of July.
