Sikorsky aircraft has opted not to head back to the bargaining table with the union until the standstill on the health care issue is resolved.
The news comes as the strike by the 3,600 teamsters from Local 1150 entered day 12 Friday. Sikorsky management's latest proposal calls for an increase in health care premiums and co-payments. Sikorsky officials say the new contract is fair and includes pay increases as well as signing bonuses. But union leaders don't see it that way.
Meantime, the union is supplementing workers' missing paychecks with a little more than $230 a week.
