Doctors at Norwalk Hospital say they are bracing for a busy cold and flu season.Health experts warn the flu and other viruses often spread more easily starting in October. They cite the change from summer to fall.
"You want to be careful with the very young and the very old," said Norwalk Hospital ER supervisor Dr. Brian McGovern. "Most people who get viruses don't need to be seen by a doctor unless they are having other symptoms, which are worrisome ? a very high fever, a bad headache, vomiting, extreme weakness, those types of things."McGovern suggests people not only get flu shots, but also eat healthy, wash their hands and get adequate rest.
