? Southwestern Connecticut towns are readying themselves for Tropical Storm Hanna, which could hit the area this weekend.
People on the beach who talked to News 12 Connecticut say they?re not concerned about Hanna, but Milford Mayor Jim Richatelli says he?s monitoring the storm.
Richatelli says the city?s Emergency Management Department is ready to respond, and the fire department is preparing to handle major evacuations if necessary.
The last time the city ordered evacuations was for the nor?easter of 1991.
Meanwhile, Gov. Jodi Rell says Connecticut is lending a helping hand to the Gulf Coast following Monday?s landfall of Hurricane Gustav.
Two Army National Guard cargo planes and their crews were dispatched to Louisiana to help in the relief effort.
