Residents in southwestern Connecticut have stepped up to help a local resident and her extended family on Long Island rebuild after Sandy devastation.
Wilton resident Jeanine Hussey's extended family on Long Island lost their homes and belongings during the treacherous storm.
Hussey asked friend, Krissy Wood, to send out an email about donating goods to her family. Wood, along with a group of volunteers, say they were overwhelmed by the response of generous residents.
Students are scheduled to load a truck with donations on Friday. The delivery will be made to Long Island sometime this weekend.
