The Stamford Fire Department introduced the city's next fire chief.
Mayor David Martin says Assistant Chief Trevor Roach will take on the top job at the end of November.
That's when current Chief Peter Brown will retire.
Roach says he hopes to continue to move the department forward.
News 12 Connecticut is told Roach joined the department in 1987 and rose through the ranks to become assistant chief in 2013.
