Fire officials in Stamford called in extra crews Thursday to help manage the influx of calls during the hot summer days.
Fire officials say on Wednesday they had to get help from another fire crew to put out a fire on Seaside Avenue.
Firefighters are only allowed to use one tank of air before they have to take a break in a specialized EMS truck. Officials say they are then monitored for safety.
The Stamford deputy chief says with these precautions, battling fires in the heat is always tough.
