Organizers say the decline may be due to increased electric and gas prices in southwestern Connecticut and nationwide. Kate Lombardo, who runs the food bank located at 461 Glenbrook Road, began asking the local ShopRite store for help on Friday. ShopRite responded by donating 100 hams. The food bank helps nearly 3,000 southwestern Connecticut families.
