A middle school student from Stamford is gearing up for a smashing performance in front of thousands at the U.S. Open.
Twelve-year-old Lucy Scorziello won a national search for young performers to sing "America the Beautiful" at this year's Open.
She says she auditioned to sing at the tennis tournament last year but didn't land the gig.
Scorziello is set to sing on Tuesday evening at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York, which holds about 23,000 people.
