Dozens of people in Stamford hit the road today and used pedal power to get to work.
The city held its seventh annual Bike to Work Day this morning at Veterans Park.
Organizers say Mayor David Martin, Congressman Jim Himes and other local leaders took part in the event.
Organizers say they want to encourage as many people as possible to ditch their cars and instead take healthier and cleaner methods of transportation.
They say this was one of 20 Bike to Work Day events planned in Connecticut today.
It corresponds with the end of CT-Rides week, which encourages the use of alternative forms of transportation.
