A Stamford man faces multiple charges after he was involved in a chase with state police on I-84.
It happened around 8:10 p.m. Thursday in Vernon.
State troopers were informed by state police in Massachusetts that a black Nissan Frontier pickup driven by Jeffrey Lauture was involved in a pursuit with them and had entered Connecticut.
Once the vehicle entered the state, Massachusetts troopers stopped the pursuit.
Troopers soon received reports that the truck was traveling erratically.
Following a pursuit, troopers used stop sticks to flatten the truck's tires. Once Lauture reduced his speed, officers were able to box the vehicle in.
Lauture was taken into custody without any issues.
Police found an illegal gun along with ammunition in the truck.
Lauture's charges include reckless driving, two counts of engaging police in pursuit, evading responsibility and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
