Despite a poll released Monday showing Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy trailing his opponent, he continued to rally in the final moments of the gubernatorial race.
Malloy is hoping last-minute voters help him close the gap with New Haven Mayor John DeStefano, who is leading Malloy by only 7 percentage points in the Democratic primary. In the morning, Malloy and his wife visited a polling station at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Shippan where they cast their own votes.
Malloy?s supporters will hold an evening gathering at the Hartford Hilton, where they hope to hear news of his win. To hear DeStefano talk about the race click here. Whoever winds up with the nomination will run against Governor Jodi Rell (R-CT) this November.
