Stamford mayor unveils $714 million budget plan

Mayor Caroline Simmons presented her 2025-2026 budget plan to Stamford last night.

The $714 million proposal includes $15 million for school construction and funding for 13 new police officers to boost staffing to an optimal level.

The budget also allocates $7 million for road paving projects, adding to the 200 roads already repaved this year.

Another $6.4 million is set aside for park improvements.

It now heads to the city's various boards for review.
