Stamford officials and community leaders met at the Yerwood Center Tuesday night to discuss ways to fight violence in the city.
Police say there has been a spike in shootings as a result of ongoing feuds among different neighborhoods.
There have been 11 shootings in Stamford since March, according to officials. To decrease that number, they say they would like to see more community programs for young people as a way to keep them off the streets.
The officials also mentioned improving parent-child relationships and revitalizing neighborhood parks to make them less likely locations for shootings and other violent incidents.
Leaders say they will hold a follow-up meeting in a few weeks.
