State and local officials in Stamford celebrated a new magnet school in the city today.
Mayor David Martin and Superintendent of Schools Earl Kim held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at New School on Strawberry Hill Avenue.
Kim says the school re-uses the historic building to create new educational spaces for the students.
Officials say the school has students in kindergarten and first grade, and will add more grades each year.
They say it's also an extension of Rogers International School.
