Parents in Stamford received a letter from Davenport Ridge Elementary School Tuesday regarding a suspicious man who has been spotted near a school bus stop.
Authorities say the man was spotted twice on Shadow Ridge Road Monday. Two girls on two separate occasions got off the bus and were approached by the man, according to police.
News 12 is told that both girls ran home after seeing the man get out of his car and approach them.
Police are urging parents to speak with their children about stranger danger. They say they are now patrolling the area surrounding the bus stop in unmarked cars.
Police believe the same man approached the girls on both occasions. They describe him as between 30 and 45 years old with a thin build, and they say he was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time.
Anyone with information about the man is urged to call Stamford police.
