An anonymous tip led Stamford police to seize an unregistered gun in a Tuesday morning raid, officials say.
They arrested Keyonte Crowder, 19, on Seaton Road. Police say he also had several forged credit cards in his possession.
Last year was the first year in three decades where Stamford went without a murder, police say. They aim to continue the trend and say seizing illegal firearms is a key goal.
"I think raids like this help towards that end result," says Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. "No homicides for an entire year for a city our size is virtually unheard of."
Crowder is being held on $100,000 bond. He is due in court next month.
