Stamford police are looking into the circumstances of a missing man's suspicious death at Boccuzzi Park.
People who live in the quiet neighborhood in the south side of Stamford say they saw police rope off an area of the park on Monday. They believe that's where police found the body of 21-year-old Jaquan Tahir Saez. Police consider his death suspicious.
"He's too young. He hasn't even lived life. It's very very unfortunate," said Stamford Police Lt. Doug Deiso.
Police say someone walking their dog called them saying they found a dead body. Police later identified the body as Saez from Stamford, who had been missing since Saturday.
"He usually checks in with his mom, and they have a very, very close relationship, so they thought that was odd that he was missing," said Deiso.
Police say Saez' mother is hoping for justice as they search for answers.
"We're looking at all the avenues of the case, we are interviewing some people and trying to figure out exactly what happened," said Deiso.
Police say they are waiting for a report from the chief medical examiner. They can't provide any more information because they're concerned about compromising their investigation.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to contact the Stamford Police Major Crimes Unit at 203-977-4417.
News 12 Connecticut reached out to the victim's family but has not heard back.
