Stamford police rescue 7-year-old who fell off pier

A 7-year-old boy who cannot swim fell off a Cummings Park pier Sunday evening, but Stamford police dove in after him to bring him safely to shore.
Police say they arrived around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to find the terrified boy holding onto a pylon in the water.
Three officers jumped in for the rescue.
The boy was treated at Stamford Hospital and released.
