Stamford police are warning about a new money scam.
They say a resident was tricked into wiring more than $400,000 to a fake email account after attempting to purchase a home in Fairfield County.
This scam is often referred to as a "business email compromise."
The FBI recovered the money and returned it to the victim's account.
