Stamford police are warning parents to be on the lookout for a man who tried to lure a 12-year-old boy into his car Tuesday morning.

The alleged incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. as the boy was waiting for his school bus on Eden Road. Police say the boy was standing alone when a suspicious vehicle pulled up to him, and the man inside motioned for the boy to come over to him. The boy refused and the driver took off.

A woman witnessed the situation unfold, and police say she is now assisting in the investigation.

Police say the driver took off toward Hope Street in a bright green or turquoise, four-door sedan, possibly an older-model Toyota Corolla or Ford Taurus with tinted windows. They want anyone with information regarding the incident to give them a call.
