Dr. Winifred Hamilton - the superintendent of Stamford Public Schools - announced Tuesday at a Board of Education meeting that she will be retiring.
Following the announcement, officials also announced the appointment of Raymond Manka as the new principal of Stamford High School.
Officials say Manka will take over starting July 1.
Manka will take over for interim principal Tony Pavia who has been serving since February.
As News 12 has reported, officials placed former principal Donna Valentine on administrative leave for accusations of failing to report an inappropriate sexual relationship between a Stamford High School teacher and a student.
