The volunteers prepared 3,500 emergency kits for disaster survivors at Americares headquarters and global distribution center in celebration of #GivingTuesday.

The kits contain essential hygiene items, including soap, shampoo and toothpaste, and are distributed to families displaced by tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires and other emergencies worldwide.

Americares says it responds to an average of 30 natural disasters and humanitarian crises worldwide each year while establishing long-term recovery projects and bringing disaster preparedness programs to vulnerable communities.

This is the eighth year the orginization has participated in #GivingTuesday, which started as a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and the generosity of people around the world.
