Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim says he'll be watching closely when state lawmakers take up a compromise housing bill this week during their special session.

"This is so important that the state invests in cities and towns so that we can create more housing. The housing crisis has reached the point where we need the help," Ganim stressed on Sunday.

"People have to be able to afford to live where they work. They have to be able to access transit to get to work. We have to focus on the housing crisis which is urgent and imminent. We can't ignore it anymore," added State Sen. Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox.
