State officials say they're warning businesses of a scam involving mail being sent to businesses from "Workplace Compliance Services."
The mailing alleges that payment is required by Connecticut law as an official annual report instruction form.
Officials say the scam is targeting small businesses across the state.
State Secretary Denise Merrill says business owners can contact her office and include a copy of the mailing if they are unsure about the legitimacy of a business filing notice.
