State police have released dashcam video of a wrong-way driver to warn of the dangers, especially heading into the holiday season.
The video shows a car driving the wrong way near exit 56 around 2 a.m. back on Nov. 20, not too far from the rest stop.
According to police, Flavio Bueno, 39, of Derby, was driving northbound into oncoming southbound traffic.
Police were able to stop Bueno near exit 58 and arrest him.
They say he was driving without a license and could also smell alcohol on his breath.
State police have a message for drivers.
"Maybe they don’t realize they are on the highway, they don't realize they are going the wrong way again they think that left lane is their right lane,” says Trooper Kelly Grant. “It’s so important to pay attention to what's going on ahead of you. A lot of people just look directly in front of them."
Police say no one was hurt during the incident.
Bueno was released on a $10,000 bond and will appear in court next week.
