A Stamford woman was killed in one of three deadly accidents that occurred over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
State police say 45-year-old Josephine Sciarrino was killed in Greenwich after her car was hit from behind and propelled her into a parked tractor trailer.
A total of four cars were involved.
The Waterbury man behind the wheel of the car whom police say started the accident is still hospitalized but expected to survive.
State troopers were still out in force Monday night to ensure residents got home safely.
Troopers have stopped nearly 400 drivers for speeding, so far, while another 800 have been ticketed for other violations including distracted driving, unsafe lane changes and following too closely.
Police also said 23 people were arrested for DUI.
