A Connecticut state representative has been suspended following a DUI arrest.
State Rep. Aundre Bumgardner (D-41), who represents Groton and Stonington, was arrested early Sunday morning in Groton, officials say.
He serves as assistant majority leader of the House Democratic caucus but has now been stripped of all committee and leadership assignments.
Bumgardner issued a statement, saying he takes full responsibility for his actions and acknowledges his mistake.
