The fight over state police staffing will take center stage in Hartford this week.
Gov. Dannel Malloy is trying to eliminate a law that requires a minimum number of state troopers on staff.
Malloy calls the staffing requirement unnecessary.
There are currently 1,080 sworn members of the state police.
