An overnight storm that soaked the region uprooted trees and knocked out power in Greenwich.
Thousands of power outages were reported at the height of the storm. North Mianus School and Greenwich Catholic School were closed for the day after losing power.
Some streets were closed as a result of downed trees and other damage. The Post Road in Cos Cob was shut down for hours after a truck hit low-hanging power lines.
Crews continue to clean up the storm's aftermath.
