A Stamford school bus carrying kids from the Still Meadow Elementary School got stuck in traffic for hours during Thursday's snowstorm.
Superintendent of Schools Earl Kim told News 12 the bus left the school around 3:45 p.m. and got stuck in traffic behind a city bus.
The bus was on Halliwell Drive trying to get up a hill.
Police say because of the gridlock, snowplows were unable to get around, and at one point, needed a police escort.
Stamford police were able to get all of the students home at about 6 p.m. They say the city's roads weren't completely cleared until 10 p.m.
The superintendent credits his staff for getting the word out to police.
