FORECAST:
It’s going to be a steamy stretch of summer weather this week, with high humidity sticking around for the next several days. Expect on-and-off rain, and at times, some heavy downpours. There will be breaks of sunshine too, but Tuesday is shaping up to be the most uncomfortable day of the week.
A slow-moving cold front is hanging out to our west, while the remnants of what used to be Tropical Storm Chantal are sitting to our south. That tropical air has pushed into our area, and it’s helping to fuel some potentially heavy rain over the next couple of days.
It’s also making it feel downright muggy and uncomfortable outside. Tuesday's, temperatures will climb into the low-90s, but it’ll feel more like 100 degrees with the humidity. Air quality will also be poor, so it’s a good day to take it easy if you can. More storms are expected later in the day, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some of those could turn severe, with damaging wind gusts being the main concern. That cold front isn’t going anywhere fast. It’ll linger in the area through the week, keeping the chance for showers and thunderstorms around. By Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will start to cool a bit as the front slowly drifts south, but the humidity will still be hanging around - just not quite as intense as Tuesday.
