The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch starting Sunday for Connecticut.
There will be mostly cloudy skies for your Friday as we wrap up the week with more seasonal numbers. Temperatures will warm up and climb into the middle-40s for the first half of this weekend.
We'll see rain and then some of the biggest snow we've seen all season as a front will slide through the area Saturday into Sunday, dropping temperatures on Sunday.
Another area of lower pressure will develop along this front and bring snow chances north into Sunday night. Amounts and potential accumulations hinge on how close this low is when it passes north and east.
With the way things look now, there is a chance to see at least minor accumulations and travel could become slick late Sunday. Early call brings 3-5 inches of snow across the area.
Then, the coldest air of the winter season arrives on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This could be dangerously cold conditions.
