A winter weather advisory is in effect for New Haven and Fairfield counties. A winter storm watch is in effect for Litchfield County.
News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hilda Estevez says the storm system will cause a wet, wintry headache Monday evening into Tuesday.
Plowable snow for many areas of Connecticut except for immediate coastal communities, south of I-95 with fewer amounts 1-3 inches. The heaviest snow across Litchfield County will reach 6-9 inches.
MONDAY: The morning starts off seasonally, with temps in mid-20s. Sunshine before rain/snow enters in the evening, closer to 7/7:30 p.m. Temps stay on the colder side, making more of a snowy setup for the majority of CT. Snow accumulates overnight across northern viewing area as snow is expected in the region for a longer stretch of time. Coastal gusts 30-40 mph. Snow, wintry mix stays north.
TUESDAY: Snow continues ending closer to 10 a.m. Gusts 25 mph. Wind chills linger after the system departs, 20-30 degrees. Sloppy afternoon commute across Merritt points north. Highs near 40. Lows near 25.
WEDNESDAY: A brief break yet increasingly cloudy. Highs near 44. Lows near 37.
