Storm Watch: Snow, sleet, and rain make it tricky for those who have to head out

As temperatures rise, the snow will transition to sleet and freezing rain—especially south of I-84 and along the I-95 corridor—before changing to plain rain south of the Merritt Parkway.

ALERTS: Winter weather advisory until 1 p.m.
As temperatures rise, the snow will transition to sleet and freezing rain—especially south of I-84 and along the I-95 corridor—before changing to plain rain south of the Merritt Parkway. The timing of this change depends on how quickly the warm air arrives. If it moves in faster, expect less snow and more mixing and rain.
But if the cold air sticks around longer, we’ll see more snow and possibly even ice. Coastal areas south of I-95 will likely get less snow but a bit more ice before turning to rain. The storm will wind down shortly after lunchtime.
More wintry weather ahead. This storm isn’t the end of winter’s impact on western Connecticut. The weather pattern remains active for the next two weeks, with another weekend storm that could resemble Thursday’s system. There’s also a chance for more snow around next Tuesday. Stay tuned to the News 12 CT Storm Watch Team for the latest updates!
