A wind advisory has been issued for the entire region from Monday night through 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Steady winds are expected to be from 15 to 25 mph and gusts up to 50 mph.
Following the high winds, we will get much colder through the new year.
Temperatures will drop from the 40s to the 20s tonight and stay within the 30s and 20s through New Year's Day. Wind gusts will become weaker by Tuesday night but watch for gusts near 30 mph for Wednesday and Thursday.
Prepare for it to feel like the teens and 20s through the start of the new year.
There is a slight chance of snow flurries on New Year's Day. Otherwise, mainly dry and cold into the weekend.

WEDNESDAY NEW YEAR'S EVE: Mostly cloudy, cold, but less windy, however still breezy with wind gusts near 25 mph. Highs in the 30s. Lows in the teens. Wind chill values in the teens and 20s.
THURSDAY NEW YEAR'S DAY: Mostly sunny, with a slight chance of snow flurries. Colder, and still breezy. Highs in the 20s. Lows in the teens.
