Stamford fire officials say firefighters braved the stormy weather to respond to a distress signal in Stamford Harbor last night.
Officials say the Coast Guard received the distress signal around 8:30 p.m.
Emergency crews used the city's fireboat to find the source.
They say firefighters found an empty secured sailboat transmitting the signal and officials believe the high seas might have activated the signal.
