Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont Tuesday endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden for president.
"When my campaign needed a final push last fall, @JoeBiden was there. I've gotten to know him more over the years and now, I'm grateful that he's thrown his hat in the ring to run against President Trump," Lamont tweeted.
Biden joins a crowded field of democratic candidates including New Jersey Senator and former Newark Mayor Cory Booker, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Democratic candidates met last week during their first round of debates.
