Three Fairfield schools are limiting their outdoor spaces as school begins because of contaminated soil.

Jennings, Mill Hill and Riverfield elementary schools were tested to have polluted soil transferred from the dump.

The situation stems from a larger contamination scandal that has resulted in criminal charges.

The organizers of Fairfield United's annual FAST tournament announced that they had to cancel the event due to the field conditions. It was scheduled for this weekend with dozens of teams planning to compete.
