Every now and then tourists at the Jersey Shore happen to experience a cloudy, rainy day, forcing them to find an alternative to fun in the sun.
This is where shops like the Parlor on Long Beach Island come in.
It’s almost a New Jersey tradition for families looking to escape cabin fever on a rainy day at the shore to visit a shop like the Parlor and buy silly items like hermit crabs, sock puppets, funny masks or other novelties.
A trip to the Parlor has been a Long Beach Island rainy day tradition for generations. This summer is the Parlor's 53rd summer running.
