Three candidates are vying for the Republican nomination to run for the mayor of Bridgeport.
Republican voters will cast their ballots for either Ethan Book, John Rodriguez or Dishon Francis on Tuesday.
The trio of candidates spent the day before the primary campaigning for a chance to become the mayor of a city that's in a traditionally blue state.
Despite the city's large Democratic population, they all believe they can be the next mayor of Bridgeport.
"Some people say it is impossible -- that's not so," Book said. "It's doable. It might be difficult, but it's doable, especially this year."
Book, a limo driver, says he is fueled by his faith.
Francis, a 23-year-old Republican, says they have registered 300 new Republicans and a lot of them were Democrats.
The Republican town committee has endorsed Rodriguez for the nomination.
Rodriguez says his child and other family members were murdered. He says he "feels what the city feels."
Mayor Joe Ganim will be vying for the Democratic nomination against state Sen. Marilyn Moore.
